The mission of E9-1-1 Institute, simply put, is to support
the Congressional E9-1-1 Caucus and assist it in promoting
public education on E9-1-1 and emergency communications issues.
Specifically, the Institute serves as an information clearinghouse
for policy makers at federal, state, and local levels, as well
as for interested parties and the general public. Our organization
also serves as a forum for policy discussions that will benefit
public policy development.
The E9-1-1 Institute also provides informational and administrative
support to members of the Congressional caucus as they pursue
their mission of improving and strengthening 9-1-1 and emergency
communications. As a not-for-profit organization, our funding
is provided by donations from our members.
I am very excited about the unique opportunities that the Institute
provides to all of us who believe that enhancing our nation’s
emergency communications system is a top priority public policy
issue. We encourage members to participate in the Institute
in a variety of ways, including by becoming active on issue
committees that promote discussion and exploration of relevant
issues.
We seek to foster consensus on public policy issues, utilize
the resources and ideas of all our members, and bring together
stakeholders to promote stronger, more capable 9-1-1 services.
The Institute is open to any individual, organization, or company
that shares in this mission.
